
New Delhi, September 3 (Daily Kiran) : East Bengal FC has been placed in Group B for the AFC Women’s Champions League 2026-27 alongside Hwacheon KSPO WFC from South Korea, Ho Chi Minh City WFC from Vietnam, and 4.25 SC from North Korea. The draw took place on Thursday at the AFC House in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The group stage will be hosted in Kolkata from November 1 to November 7, 2026. This marks the first time the AFC Women’s Champions League will be held in India.
Moshul Girls secured their spot in the group stage for the second consecutive year after finishing first in Group A during the preliminary round held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. They outperformed Sabah FA from Malaysia, Rovers FC from Guam, and Rajshahi Stars FC from Bangladesh.
In this third edition of the AFC Women’s Champions League, a total of 12 teams will compete in a centralized league format, divided into three groups of four teams each.
As the champions of the Indian Women’s League, East Bengal FC aims to qualify for the quarter-finals for the first time. Their opponents include Hwacheon KSPO WFC, the WK League champions; Ho Chi Minh City WFC, the Vietnamese Women’s League champions; and 4.25 SC, the champions of the DPR Korea Women’s Premier League.
Following the group stage, the winners of each group, the three runners-up, and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout stage. The quarter-final matchups will be determined by a separate draw in December 2026 and will take place in March 2027. The group winners and the highest-ranked runner-up will host the quarter-final matches.
