Diya Kumari Confident of BJP Victory in West Bengal Elections

New Delhi, April 25: The first phase of voting for 152 assembly seats in the West Bengal elections has concluded, with over 90% voter turnout. BJP leaders are visibly pleased with the results. Rajasthan’s Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, expressed strong confidence that the BJP will secure victory in the state assembly elections.

In a conversation with the media, Kumari stated, “Victory is assured; we will win.” She emphasized that the party’s top leadership and all workers have put in significant effort, and the people of Bengal are eager for change and development. She pointed out that the state is lagging in law and order and other issues, and central government schemes are not being implemented effectively. The public has decisively chosen to support the BJP.

The high voter turnout in the first phase indicates a clear mandate for the BJP government.

Regarding the recent defection of Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and six others from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the BJP, Kumari remarked that the opposition has little to say. She noted that the departure of several AAP MPs to join the BJP reflects the current political landscape in the country. “Whether they are representatives or ordinary citizens, everyone is observing this shift. Under PM Modi’s leadership, everyone wants to contribute,” she added.

BJP MP Vivek Thakur commented on the first phase of voting in Bengal, stating that the electorate has voted for change. He compared the situation to Bihar, where voter turnout increased after the SIR, a trend also seen in Bengal and Tamil Nadu. “The people of Bengal have voted for transformation,” he said.

When asked about the AAP MPs leaving the party, Thakur responded, “What can we say about this? AAP should clarify why they left.”

BJP leader Ashwini Sharma from Punjab suggested that Arvind Kejriwal must reconsider his leadership style. He remarked that AAP, which once aimed to be an alternative political force, has strayed from its original goal. “They talk about democracy, yet there is no internal democracy within the party. The departure of former close associates of Kejriwal indicates that all is not well within the organization,” he concluded.
