
Mumbai, June 20: Aamir Khan’s sports drama film “Sitare Zameen Par” has completed one year since its release. On Saturday, the film’s director, R.S. Prasanna, took to social media to lavish praise on the ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ himself, Aamir Khan.
Prasanna described Khan as a remarkable actor and a complete support system. He emphasized that working with Aamir is undoubtedly beneficial.
Sharing a picture with Aamir on his official handle, R.S. Prasanna wrote, “An extraordinary journey of five years with the most talented and affectionate star, actor, producer, and support system. Thank you for everything, sir. You truly are like an addiction.”
The story of “Sitare Zameen Par” is penned by Divya Nidhi Sharma, and the film is produced under Aamir Khan Productions, co-produced by Aamir and Aparna Purohit. It serves as a sequel to Aamir’s 2007 film “Taare Zameen Par” and is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film “Champions.”
“Sitare Zameen Par” follows the story of suspended basketball coach Gulshan Arora (played by Aamir Khan), who is sentenced to community service by helping prepare a team of differently-abled players for a tournament.
The film features Genelia D’Souza in a lead role, along with ten new actors including Arush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Sanvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The technical team for this drama includes cinematographer G. Srinivas Reddy, editor Charu Shree Roy, and composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
On a personal note, Aamir Khan is reportedly set to marry his partner, Gauri Sprat, soon. According to reports, the couple may hold a simple registered ceremony at home with family and close friends on July 5.
