Mumbai, February 17: The call for a CBI investigation into the plane crash involving former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has intensified. This demand was made during a meeting between Pawar’s wife, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) National Working President and MP Praful Patel, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar, State President and MP Sunil Tatkare, Minister Hasan Mushrif, and youth leader Parth Pawar met with Chief Minister Fadnavis to push for a CBI inquiry into the incident.

Following the meeting, Sunil Tatkare spoke to the media, stating, “We have requested the Chief Minister to initiate a CBI investigation into this entire incident.” The Chief Minister assured them that the state government would write to the Union Home Minister to take necessary steps for the CBI inquiry.

Earlier, Sunetra Pawar had traveled to New Delhi shortly after assuming her role as Deputy Chief Minister. During her visit, she met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.

Before this, NCP-SP MLA Rohit Pawar urged Home Minister Amit Shah to order a comprehensive, transparent, and independent investigation into the plane crash that occurred near Baramati on January 28.

On January 28, a Learjet 45 crashed in Baramati, claiming the lives of six individuals, including Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. He was en route to Baramati to attend a public meeting amidst ongoing elections for the district council and panchayat committee when the aircraft lost control during landing.
