According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board, the average Air Quality Index (AQI) for Delhi at 7 AM was recorded at 196, which falls into the ‘moderate’ category. This marks an improvement from Saturday, when the AQI reached 227 by 4 PM, categorizing it as ‘poor’. Despite the slight reduction in pollution levels, light smog persisted in many areas, indicating that the air quality is not yet fully satisfactory.

Pollution levels remain high in several parts of Delhi. Mundka reported the worst conditions, with an AQI of 266. Other areas with concerning levels include Pusa (257), Narela (247), Rohini (247), Ashok Vihar (243), Jahangirpuri (242), and Wazirpur (239), all categorized as ‘poor’. Additional locations such as Nehru Nagar (237), Shadipur (236), Bawana (231), Vivek Vihar (231), Siri Fort (222), and Chandni Chowk (220) also recorded elevated pollution levels.

Conversely, some areas experienced comparatively better air quality. The lowest AQI was noted at Sri Aurobindo Marg, with a reading of 126. Sunday’s figures were similar to those from Saturday. On Saturday, Anand Vihar recorded an AQI of 260, and RK Puram had 237, both in the ‘poor’ category. In ITO, the AQI was 223, and Chandni Chowk recorded 232. Meanwhile, Aaya Nagar (151), IGI Airport Terminal-3 (138), and Pusa (157) maintained ‘moderate’ air quality levels.

According to government standards, an AQI of 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 is satisfactory, 101 to 200 is moderate, 201 to 300 is poor, 301 to 400 is very poor, and levels from 401 to 500 are deemed severe.

In terms of weather, the Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 10 degrees Celsius for Sunday. The department also noted that light fog may persist in some areas, potentially affecting visibility and air quality.
