Delhi Police Uncovers Theft, Arrests Suspects and Recovers Stolen Goods

New Delhi, June 30: The police in the national capital, New Delhi, have made significant progress in a factory theft case, arresting one suspect and detaining a minor. Authorities recovered ₹7,000 in cash and a stolen scooter from the suspects. During the investigation, two additional vehicle theft cases were also uncovered.

According to police reports, Nagendra Mahto, a resident of Rajgarh Colony, filed a complaint about the theft at his factory through the Delhi police‘s online portal. Based on this complaint, an e-FIR was registered on June 24, 2026, under sections 305/331 of the Indian Penal Code. The complaint detailed how unknown assailants broke into the factory by forcing open the gate and fled with cash.

In light of the seriousness of the case, senior officials directed the formation of a special police team. This team gathered local intelligence, activated a network of informants, and initiated an investigation based on technical evidence. They reviewed over 100 CCTV footage recordings from nearby areas, which helped trace the suspects’ activities and escape routes.

Following continuous surveillance and intelligence tips, police apprehended 21-year-old Salman, along with his 17-year-old accomplice. During questioning, both admitted their involvement in the theft. The police recovered the stolen ₹7,000 in cash based on their information.

Additionally, the investigation led to the recovery of a stolen scooter, linked to another vehicle theft case registered at the Gandhi Nagar police station. Further inquiries revealed the duo’s involvement in yet another scooter theft.

During interrogation, Salman disclosed that he was addicted to smack and alcohol, committing thefts, burglaries, and snatchings to fund his addiction.

Authorities noted that the suspect has a history of criminal activities. This operation was carried out by the Gandhi Nagar police team, including Sub-Inspector Vikas Kumar, Head Constable Vivek Kumar, Head Constable Rahul Chaudhary, Head Constable Aman Bansal, and Constable Prince.
