Delhi Police Launches Two-Day Training Program for Child Safety Month

New Delhi, July 1: The Delhi Police has initiated a two-day training program as part of the ‘Child Safety Month’ initiative. This program aims to enhance the safety and protection of children in the capital’s educational institutions.

The event aligns with the vision of the Lieutenant Governor and is a collaborative effort involving the Directorate of Education, SCERT, and Delhi Police. The training is being conducted at the Ideal Auditorium, Police Headquarters, Delhi, in a hybrid format, allowing participants to join both physically and virtually.

Four batches have been created for the program, with each batch receiving half a day of training. The goal is to enhance teachers’ capabilities, raise awareness, and strengthen child safety measures in schools.

The training covers several critical topics related to child safety, including guidelines from the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, rules regarding school safety and security, cyber safety awareness, an introduction to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and the implementation of the POCSO Act under the Directorate of Education.

This training program aims to increase awareness among teachers and other stakeholders, promote child-friendly practices, and strengthen mechanisms to ensure the safety, protection, and welfare of children in educational institutions.

The program is being conducted under the supervision of DCP/SPUWAC Neha Yadav, who emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among various departments and agencies to create a safe and secure environment for children and to enhance child protection mechanisms in schools.

This joint initiative reflects the commitment of the Delhi government, Delhi Police, Directorate of Education, and SCERT to create a safe, aware, and accountable environment in schools across the capital.
