Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to Launch Delhi Laxmi Scheme Registration Portal on August 1

New Delhi, July 31: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will launch a registration portal for the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme’ on Saturday, August 1. This initiative aims to provide eligible women with a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500.

An official statement released on Friday indicated that the Chief Minister will inaugurate the portal at a special event held at the District Magistrate Office (East) in Geeta Colony at 11 AM. During the event, she will register some eligible women automatically and initiate the application process. Following this, other eligible women will also be able to submit their applications through the portal.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that the Delhi government’s goal is to ensure timely verification of all eligible applications and to disburse the first installment on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Previously, under Gupta’s leadership, the Delhi Cabinet approved the decision to launch the registration portal for the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme.’ This scheme is designed to provide financial assistance to women aged between 21 and 60 years.

The Delhi government has stipulated that only women who have been residents of Delhi for at least 10 years will be eligible. Additionally, beneficiaries or their families must not have any criminal records. Only the eldest eligible woman in a family can apply, and only one woman per family can benefit from this scheme.

Moreover, the family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh.

The statement further clarified, “Women already receiving benefits from any government pension or other regular financial assistance schemes will not be eligible. Similarly, women from families owning a four-wheeler will also be disqualified from this scheme.”

The Chief Minister stated that the ‘Delhi Laxmi Scheme’ aims to provide a strong foundation for economic empowerment, self-reliance, and a dignified life for women in the national capital. She added that when a woman in a family achieves financial security, it accelerates progress for the family, society, and the nation alike.
