Bengaluru, June 3: Ahead of D.K. Shivakumar’s swearing-in ceremony as Chief Minister of Karnataka, stringent security measures have been implemented around the Lok Bhavan and its vicinity. Over 2,000 police personnel have been deployed to maintain order and prevent any untoward incidents.
Bengaluru’s Police Commissioner, Seemanth Kumar Singh, will directly oversee the security arrangements. He will be joined by three Joint Police Commissioners and 20 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to coordinate with the deployed officers.
Only VIPs and VVIPs with valid vehicle passes will be allowed to drive into the Lok Bhavan premises for the event. All dignitaries are advised to arrive at least one hour before the program starts.
Vehicles without passes will be halted near Thimayya Circle, with no further access allowed for private vehicles. Special six-seater electric golf carts have been arranged to transport dignitaries from Thimayya Circle to the main event area at Lok Bhavan. The police have already received an official list of those issued vehicle passes, and their identities and documents are being verified.
As D.K. Shivakumar prepares to take the oath as Karnataka’s new Chief Minister, his supporters and Congress workers have adorned various parts of the city with large flex boards, banners, and cutouts to celebrate the occasion.
Notably, Congress workers in the Sumanahalli area of the Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency have erected a massive 100-foot cutout of D.K. Shivakumar. His supporters are celebrating this momentous occasion with great enthusiasm and grandeur.
Meanwhile, welcome banners and flex boards have been placed along the route from Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to the city. These displays are intended to greet leaders from various states attending the swearing-in ceremony. Numerous flex boards featuring images of various political leaders line the highways and major roads from the airport toll plaza to Bengaluru.
The Congress Farmers’ Cell in Karnataka has crafted a garland made of ₹20 notes to honor D.K. Shivakumar, who is set to take the oath of office soon.
