Court Extends Judicial Custody of Twisha Sharma Death Case Accused Until July 14

Bhopal, June 30: A special court has extended the judicial custody of retired judge Giribala Singh and her son, Samarth Singh, accused in the death case of model-actress Twisha Sharma, until July 14.

Both accused were presented in court via video conferencing from Bhopal Central Jail. The court issued this order following the expiration of their previous judicial custody period.

After the hearing, the court directed that both remain in judicial custody until the next hearing date. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is investigating the case, did not request further custody for interrogation of the accused.

The agency continues its investigation by recording witness statements and examining documentary, forensic, and electronic evidence related to the case.

Twisha Sharma was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal on May 12. Her family has demanded a fair investigation into the incident.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court assigned the case to the CBI after hearing petitions for an independent investigation. Since then, the central agency has been probing all aspects of the case, including the circumstances surrounding Twisha’s death.

Earlier this month, the CBI arrested Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh. They were initially remanded to custody for questioning by the special court. After the CBI’s custody period ended, the court sent both accused to judicial custody, where they have remained in Bhopal Central Jail.

Following the extension of their judicial custody on Tuesday, they were again presented in court via video conferencing. The CBI has stated that the investigation is ongoing and has not disclosed details of the evidence collected during the inquiry.

CBI officials are examining forensic reports, electronic records, and witness statements to determine the causes of Twisha Sharma’s death.

The agency has interrogated several individuals connected to the case and continues to verify the evidence gathered during the investigation.

With the judicial custody of Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh extended until July 14, the CBI is expected to continue its investigation before taking the next legal step in the case.
