Opposition Accuses BJP of Targeting Small Fish While Protecting Big Sharks in Ram Temple Case

New Delhi, July 2: The opposition has launched a fierce attack on the BJP regarding the investigation into the Ram Temple donation case and the alleged egg-throwing incident at the office of Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra. Rajya Sabha member Manoj Jha from RJD and Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput responded to these issues.

Manoj Jha stated that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Ram Temple donation case should be granted an additional 15 days to ensure a fair investigation. He remarked, “Pressure should not be applied on small fish while letting the sharks go free.” His comments suggest that actions should not be limited to minor players; if major names emerge, they should also face consequences.

Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput accused the SIT of being given extra time to “protect the big crocodiles.”

When asked about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in West Bengal, Manoj Jha noted that this issue has been discussed multiple times. He raised questions, asking, “Will this create jobs for the youth of Bengal? Will it eliminate income inequality?”

In response to the alleged egg and vegetable-throwing incident at Mahua Moitra’s office by BJP workers, Manoj Jha expressed concern, stating, “If the nature of politics has become such that the winning party feels licensed to do anything after losing elections, then today eggs have been thrown, and tomorrow stones could be thrown as well.”

Surendra Rajput condemned the incident, asserting, “Mahua Moitra is not just making accusations; her office was attacked. Today it was eggs, tomorrow it could be gunfire. The police have remained mute spectators. Such an attack on a female representative is extremely shameful, and the entire women’s community will respond to this.”
