Controversy Erupts Over AAP MLAs Actions at Gujarat Factory Site

Gandhinagar, April 27: The controversy surrounding Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Chaitar Vasava has intensified following a dispute at a factory site in Bharuch district, Gujarat. BJP MP Dhaval Patel has accused the MLA of assaulting members of a tribal victim’s family.

Patel claims that Vasava has multiple serious charges against him and is currently out on bail under strict conditions. He stated, “He has violated court conditions, and we will make every effort to send him back to jail.”

The incident began on April 23, after a fire at a chemical factory in the Jhagadia GIDC industrial area injured 16 workers. Tragically, two workers, including Rakesh Vasava, later died during treatment.

The day after the incident, Rakesh Vasava’s cousin, Roshan Vasava, visited the factory to discuss compensation. During this time, Chaitar Vasava arrived with supporters and relatives of other injured workers, demanding increased compensation.

A video that went viral on social media shows a heated argument between the MLA and Roshan Vasava near the factory gate, which escalated into a physical altercation. Police were present at the scene, but other individuals intervened to break up the fight.

Roshan Vasava accused the MLA of attempting to incite unrest. He said, “Chaitar Vasava came here to provoke people. He was not here to help us but to extract money. I am not affiliated with any political party; I came here solely for my family.”

He also mentioned that the police did not exert any pressure on him, nor did he react to anyone’s provocation. Roshan warned that if law and order deteriorate, the MLA would be held responsible.

In response, MLA Chaitar Vasava dismissed the allegations, asserting that he was there to seek justice for the victim families at their invitation. He claimed that negligence at the factory led to the incident, resulting in injuries to 16 workers and the deaths of two, with some workers suffering severe burns.

Vasava alleged that the factory management was not communicating with the victim families. He added that the dispute arose due to the presence of some outsiders who had no connection to the victim families, who initiated the argument and then confronted him in front of the police.

He revealed that the company had offered 1.5 million rupees in compensation to the families of the deceased, but no assistance had been provided for the injured workers.

On the other hand, Dhaval Patel stated that the government and police were already taking action in the case and that discussions regarding compensation were ongoing when the MLA intervened. He accused Vasava of insisting that mediation should only occur through him.
