Controversy Erupts as Complaint Filed Against Actor Prakash Raj in Tirupati Court

Tirupati, June 15: A criminal complaint has been filed against actor Prakash Raj in a Tirupati court. The case pertains to his alleged remarks about Hindu deities and the Ramayana. The complainant claims that Raj made statements on public platforms that hurt religious sentiments.

The complaint was lodged by BJP leader and member of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Trust Board, G. Bhanuprakash Reddy. He submitted the case to the Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class Court in Tirupati on Monday. Reddy alleges that Prakash Raj made inflammatory statements at various public events, including the Kerala Literature Festival.

According to the complaint, the actor reportedly made a controversial remark regarding Lord Ram and Lakshman. He allegedly stated that they came from North India to invade South India, linking it to Lanka.

Bhanuprakash Reddy noted that he saw a video on social media on April 17, where Prakash Raj was making derogatory, factually incorrect, and inflammatory statements about Lord Ram, Lakshman, and the sacred epic Ramayana. This video quickly went viral, sparking outrage and anger within the Hindu community.

The complainant accuses the actor of deliberately making such statements to fuel debates like ‘Aryan-Dravidian.’ This could lead to regional and social tensions. Such comments are detrimental to India’s cultural unity and religious harmony.

The complaint states that Prakash Raj’s remarks have hurt religious sentiments and are against public peace. Therefore, it calls for serious consideration of the matter.

The complainant has requested the court to accept the complaint, investigate the case, and issue a summons to the actor for legal action if necessary.
