Congress to Fight for Tribal Rights in Madhya Pradesh: Jitu Patwari

Bhopal, May 30: The Congress party in Madhya Pradesh has pledged to advocate for tribal rights during a recent meeting of the Tribal Congress. State President Jitu Patwari announced that the party will fight for the interests of the tribal community at the grassroots level. The organizational meeting took place at the Indira Bhawan, the state Congress headquarters in Bhopal, involving the state executive and district presidents of the Tribal Congress.

The discussions focused on current issues affecting the tribal community, including their constitutional rights, and the protection of water, forests, and land. The meeting emphasized strengthening the organizational struggle against injustices faced by tribal people. It was resolved that the voice of the tribal community would be raised vigorously at all levels, fighting for their dignity, rights, and justice with full commitment.

Patwari highlighted that the tribal community is the rightful owner of water, forests, and land. The Congress will lead the fight for tribal rights from the ground up. A strategy for the tribal struggle will be developed under the leadership of Opposition Leader Umang Singhar, Congress Working Committee member Kamleshwar Patel, and National President of Tribal Congress Vikrant Bhuria.

Addressing the atrocities against the tribal community, Patwari cited NCRB data indicating that tribal women face the highest levels of violence. The meeting was attended by several prominent leaders, including former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, National President of Tribal Congress Dr. Vikrant Bhuria, Opposition Leader Umang Singhar, former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, Kamleshwar Patel, former Minister Sajjan Singh Verma, Bala Bachchan, Sukdev Pansay, P.C. Sharma, and Ramu Tekam, the state president of Tribal Congress, along with many senior legislators and leaders.
