
Hansi, June 8: Congress MP Deepender Hooda has shown his support for the ongoing protests in Chaint village, which have been taking place for 24 days due to a drinking water crisis.
In a conversation with the media, Hooda emphasized that providing water is a fundamental human responsibility and a basic right for every citizen. He urged the government to address the legitimate demands of Chaint village promptly and ensure water supply according to their rights.
Hooda called for the withdrawal of cases against the protesters and warned that if the water crisis is not resolved soon, he will raise the issue in both the Assembly and Parliament. He stated, “As a representative of the citizens of Haryana and the opposition, I urge the government to resolve the legitimate demands of Chaint village immediately. The solution should satisfy all villages in the region, ensuring equal access to water.”
The villagers of Chaint have been protesting for 24 days, demanding a solution to their drinking water shortage. Hooda expressed his full support for their just demands and insisted that the government must act without delay to ensure equal water supply for every individual.
Regarding the NEET paper leak incident, Hooda noted the nationwide outrage and mentioned that he protested against it in Kurukshetra. He claimed he was targeted and humiliated for his stance, stating, “Such attacks should not happen in a democracy. It is not just me being targeted; it is democracy itself.”
He also highlighted that the Congress party is monitoring the SIR process and will oppose any irregularities. Hooda called for the resignation of the central education minister, emphasizing that the youth of the country deserve justice. He announced that the next protest will take place in Panipat on June 12.
