Congress MP Criticizes Kangana Ranauts Comments in Lok Sabha

New Delhi, March 19: Congress MP Sukdev Bhagat has responded to BJP MP Kangana Ranaut’s remarks against Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha. He stated that Ranaut is attempting to replace Smriti Irani.

In a conversation with a news agency, Bhagat remarked, “Kangana Ranaut is trying to take Smriti Irani’s place. To remain in the BJP leadership’s good graces, she makes nonsensical statements. My point is, ‘Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others.’”

On the threats made by Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei towards Israel, Bhagat emphasized, “War is not a solution to any problem. India has always advocated for dialogue. War harms not only the two countries involved but also has negative repercussions for other related nations. Threats during wartime have no end. Therefore, dialogue must be established.”

Amid the Supreme Court’s displeasure over interference in the IPAC case, Bhagat defended West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He stated, “The way the BJP is misusing constitutional institutions like the ED and CBI, it is natural to resist. Some issues are particularly amplified by the government and the ruling party.”

Regarding the comments made by U.S. National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard, who labeled Pakistan as a significant nuclear threat to the U.S., Bhagat said, “Pakistan has always harbored terrorism. India has consistently reiterated this. If the U.S. is now recognizing this, it is a positive development. I believe that any country that supports terrorism can never be good for the world.”

On the iftar party held on a boat in the Ganges in Varanasi, the Congress MP remarked, “Religion is a matter of personal faith. If someone opens their fast with good intentions, there is no need to give it a religious color.”
