New Delhi, March 21: In a significant operation against Naxalites and criminals in Bihar, police and the Special Task Force (STF) have achieved a major breakthrough. Two members of the banned Naxalite organization, PLFI, were arrested during a joint operation by the Bihar STF and Nawada police. Following their leads, authorities recovered approximately 40 kilograms of explosive materials along with a substantial cache of weapons from a forested area.
An official reported on Saturday that police received intelligence indicating the presence of both Naxals in the region. Acting on this information, the police and STF conducted a coordinated raid, leading to their capture.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Dayanand Rajwanshi, alias Gurjar or Pappu, and Mithlesh Rajwanshi, both residents of Hardiya in the Rajouli police station area. They had been associated with the organization for an extended period and were attempting to escalate Naxalite activities in the locality.
The arrests took place within the jurisdiction of the Rajouli police station. Authorities stated that based on the information provided by the detained Naxals, a significant amount of illegal firearms and explosives were recovered from the hilly and forested region of Bhane Khap.
The seized weapons included two regular rifles, 20 cartridges, one tactical gear (with a bulletproof plate), nine detonators, and around 40 kilograms of explosives, which were stored in various pockets. Additionally, 100 meters of cordex was also confiscated.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at the Rajouli police station regarding this incident. Interrogation of the arrested Naxals is ongoing, and efforts are being made to gather information about their network. The administration has stated that anyone undermining law and order in the state will not be spared at any cost.
