Lucknow, June 20: Ajay Rai, the President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, has sharply criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath‘s recent visit to Ayodhya. He claims that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to investigate the Ram Temple donation controversy is merely a façade. Rai accused the government of misleading the public and questioned why no action has been taken against Nripendra Mishra and Champat Rai if the Chief Minister is genuinely concerned.
While speaking to reporters in Lucknow, Rai noted that Adityanath visited Ayodhya only after he himself had gone there. “I visited Hanumangarhi and worshipped Lord Ram yesterday. The Chief Minister arrived only after learning that Congress had already reached there. The question is, why didn’t he go earlier? As the head of the state, it is his responsibility,” he stated.
Rai further alleged that the Chief Minister is merely going through the motions. He claimed that members of the trust have embezzled donations for the temple, yet the Chief Minister has not taken any action against them. “The SIT is just a show, aimed at misleading the people,” he added.
On a different note, Ajay Rai celebrated Rahul Gandhi‘s birthday with children at the ‘Shreemad Dayanand Bal Sadan Orphanage’ in Motinagar, Aishbagh, Lucknow. They cut a cake, distributed sweets, and spent quality time with the children.
Rai emphasized that true politics is not about power but about serving the most marginalized and bringing smiles to innocent faces. He stated that this philosophy is central to Rahul Gandhi’s life. “The joy in these children’s eyes and the smiles on their faces are the most beautiful and priceless gifts for our leader on his birthday. The Congress party is committed to ensuring a bright, safe, and happy future for every child in the country,” he remarked.
In Varanasi, when Congress workers depicted Rahul Gandhi as Lord Parshuram and performed an abhishek with milk on his birthday, Rai expressed pride in their gesture. He stated, “Our workers have honored him. Wherever there is oppression and injustice, he stands as a servant, like Parshuram, with a weapon in hand. Every worker stands with him.”
He concluded by stating that Rahul Gandhi is raising the voice of the common man and farmers. “He has taken up the weapon against tyranny, backed by the Constitution. The country stands with Rahul Gandhi.”
