Pune, August 22: The political tension continues to escalate ahead of the ‘Students’ Echo’ event scheduled for Saturday, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Pune. In response to allegations from the BJP claiming that Congress is paying to gather crowds, Congress leaders have firmly denied these accusations.
Congress leader Yashomati Thakur responded to the BJP’s claims, stating, “We do not have any money. Look at the BJP’s accounts and ours. Where would we get the funds? We simply do not have any money. Congress is full of enthusiasm, and the youth are excited.”
Congress MLA Vishwajit Kadam emphasized that this event is not a political rally but a direct dialogue with the youth. He remarked, “It is 100% certain. This is not a political event; it’s a conversation with young people. Why does the BJP fear a simple discussion? They should understand its significance. 30,000 students have registered. So, what will the turnout be for 30,000?”
Additionally, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat claimed there is tremendous enthusiasm among students for the event. He stated, “The atmosphere is such that it’s not about the venue; it’s about the entire Pune filling up with people.”
Congress leader Satish ‘Bunty’ Patil added, “This is the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Savitribai Phule. We are very pleased that a program for women and girls is happening here. The voice of the youth across the country is represented by Rahul Gandhi. This has been proven over many years, and through ‘Students’ Echo,’ we will bring their issues to the forefront and work towards solutions.”
