Congress Criticizes Government Over Khan Sir Coaching Incident in Bihar

Amethi, June 4: Congress MP Kishori Lal Sharma, during his one-day visit to Amethi, condemned the recent attack on Khan Sir’s coaching center in Patna, Bihar. He raised concerns about the government’s law and order situation, emphasizing that such incidents must be taken seriously.

Sharma recalled that during the Bihar elections, terms like “jungle raj” were frequently used. He expressed alarm over the attack on Khan Sir, a teacher known for providing quality education at low costs. He questioned whether this incident was merely a law and order issue or if it stemmed from commercial competition or other motives.

He noted that many students from Khan Sir’s coaching center have successfully become IAS and IPS officers, holding significant positions today. Therefore, attacks on educational institutions are unfortunate. “If jungle raj truly exists, it is evident in Bihar today,” he stated.

Additionally, Sharma raised concerns about a reported ₹2 crore scam involving medications at King George Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. He asserted that if these allegations are proven true, it poses a serious issue directly impacting the rights of poor patients.

He highlighted that KGMU serves as a major healthcare facility for the underprivileged, and any corruption or scam there undermines the entire system. He called for a high-level investigation into the matter, insisting that strict action should be taken against those found guilty to deter future misconduct.

When asked about opposition unity, Sharma noted that the upcoming PDA unity meeting on June 8 would be crucial for the opposition alliance. He clarified that this is not merely a party event but part of the India alliance, which includes various regional parties.

He mentioned that Mamata Banerjee has already confirmed her participation in the India alliance. Her attendance at the meeting would strengthen the coalition. However, he acknowledged that leaders sometimes cannot attend due to busy schedules, but their representatives are present. He expressed optimism about Banerjee’s attendance, stating it would further bolster the alliance.
