Congress Criticizes BJP Over Unemployment and Student Protests in Madhya Pradesh
Congress leaders accuse BJP of failing to address unemployment and mishandling student protests during a recent demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

New Delhi, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Congress leaders have recently criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its handling of unemployment issues and student protests in Madhya Pradesh. During a press conference, Congress representatives, including Kunal Chaudhary and MLA Rafiq Khan, highlighted the ongoing unemployment crisis in the state and alleged police brutality against students demonstrating at Jantar Mantar.
Chaudhary pointed to a viral video that reportedly shows police violence during the protests. He accused the BJP of using excessive force against students who were peacefully demanding their rights. Allegations include the use of batons and pellet guns against demonstrators. He called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to clarify when the government would take action against such incidents.
The Congress leader also criticized Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s recent visit to Sehore, stating that the BJP has repeatedly promised job creation but has failed to deliver. He noted that despite hosting investment conferences, the state continues to struggle with rising unemployment and increasing debt. Chaudhary urged the government to focus on real solutions in employment, education, and administrative reforms rather than just speeches.
On the topic of the potential renaming of Jahangir Mahal in Orchha, Chaudhary dismissed the idea as a superficial measure. He emphasized that changing names will not solve the pressing issues facing farmers and the unemployed. He accused the BJP of prioritizing political maneuvers over genuine development.
In a more positive light, Chaudhary acknowledged the Chief Minister’s meeting with singer Sunil Lodhi, who is associated with the film “Hanuman Ansh.” The Chief Minister reportedly provided financial assistance to Lodhi. However, Chaudhary urged that the values of love and compassion, as taught by Lord Ram and Hanuman, should be practiced rather than merely used for publicity.
Rafiq Khan provided updates on the Congress’s organizational strengthening campaign in Uttar Pradesh, stating that meetings are being held to bolster the party’s structure ahead of upcoming elections. He noted that similar initiatives are taking place across the country, helping the party prepare for electoral contests.
Khan also raised concerns about the Delhi Police’s identification of 2,873 individuals with alleged criminal records during the protests, questioning the police’s approach to student movements. He argued that while legal action should be taken against individuals with criminal backgrounds, it should not tarnish the reputation of the entire student movement.
Additionally, Khan condemned the BJP for its perceived discriminatory attitudes towards Dalits, referencing a recent controversy involving a temple in Rajasthan. He asserted that no individual should be deprived of their constitutional rights based on caste or religion, emphasizing that such actions contradict the spirit of the Constitution and challenge the principle of social equality.
