Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk Begins Three-Day Visit to India for Strategic Talks

Polish PM Donald Tusk arrives in India for a three-day visit to enhance defense, trade, and technology cooperation with PM Modi.

New Delhi, October 21 (Daily Kiran) : Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk arrived in New Delhi on the evening of October 21 for a three-day official visit. His trip aims to strengthen defense, trade, technology, and strategic cooperation between Poland and India.

Upon his arrival at the Delhi airport, Tusk was welcomed by Raj Bhushan Choudhary, the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Water Power. The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, stated on the social media platform X that this high-level visit would invigorate the strategic partnership between India and Poland, deepening their long-standing relations.

During his stay, Prime Minister Tusk will engage in extensive bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Their meeting, scheduled for October 22, will cover various topics, including defense manufacturing, trade, emerging technologies, space research, renewable energy, and investment.

The two leaders will also discuss regional and global issues, such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, India-EU relations, and other global security concerns. Accompanying Tusk is Poland’s Finance and Economy Minister, Andrzej Domanski, along with a high-level business delegation.

This marks Tusk’s first visit to India in 16 years as Prime Minister. Previously, in August 2024, Prime Minister Modi made a historic trip to Poland, during which both nations elevated their ties to a strategic partnership.

In addition to official meetings in New Delhi, the Polish delegation will participate in various business events. The India-Poland Business Forum is set to take place on October 22 in New Delhi and on October 23 in Bengaluru.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Tusk will be in India from October 21 to 23. This visit is his second to India as Prime Minister; he last visited in 2010.

After events in New Delhi, Tusk will travel to Bengaluru, where he will meet representatives from the information technology, space, and other industries.

Notably, in September 2026, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, in Warsaw. They reviewed the progress of the Joint Action Plan for 2024-28, discussing topics such as trade and investment, space, digital technology, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, defense, education, energy, and multilateral cooperation.

During his visit to Warsaw, Jaishankar also met with Polish President Karol Nawrocki to discuss the progress of the India-Poland strategic partnership, alongside issues like the Ukraine conflict, West Asia, IMEC, and G20.
