
New Delhi, April 4: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has announced the appointment of 27 observers for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in 2026.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved this proposal. A press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal states that these appointments will take immediate effect.
The list of appointed observers includes notable names such as M.M. Pallam Raju, Praniti Sushilkumar Shinde, Yashomati Thakur, Varsha Eknath Gaikwad, Neeraj Dangi, Anil Yadav, Devendra Yadav, K.H. Muniyappa, D.K. Suresh, Madhu Yakshi Gaud, Ramalinga Reddy, and Ishwar Khandre.
Additionally, M.C. Sudhakar, Santosh Lad, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, G. Kumar Nayak, R.V. Venkatesh, Manthar Gauda, Suresh Bayarathi, Priya Krishna, A.C. Srinivas, Srinivas Mane, T.D. Rajegowda, Ajay Singh, Vijay Singh, S.A. Hussain, and Soumya Reddy have also been appointed as AICC observers.
These observers will oversee the electoral preparations of the Tamil Nadu Congress, monitor organizational strength, and assist in effectively implementing the party’s strategy. Through these appointments, Congress aims to strengthen its state unit and ensure a better performance in the upcoming elections.
Tamil Nadu has a total of 234 assembly seats. Congress is part of the DMK-led alliance. Recently, Congress also released its first list of candidates for 27 seats. The appointment of these observers is expected to give a new momentum to the party’s electoral preparations.
According to Congress sources, these observers will tour various regions, meet local leaders, address organizational weaknesses, and enhance election management. The party’s focus this time is to increase its presence in Tamil Nadu and strengthen the alliance.
This appointment is part of Congress’s strategy to streamline its organizational structure ahead of major elections. The observers will work in coordination with Tamil Nadu Congress President K. Selvapereunthagai and other local leaders.
