New Delhi, June 17: Concerns have been raised regarding the increasing dirt and unauthorized shops outside the famous Kalka Ji Temple in Delhi. Mahant Surendranath Avadhut has urged local authorities, the municipal corporation, and elected representatives to intervene immediately to keep the temple route free from encroachment and clean. He emphasized the need for verification of vendors operating in the area.
In an interview on Wednesday, Mahant Surendranath Avadhut stated that Kalka Ji Temple is a revered site, attracting thousands of devotees daily. However, the entrance and surrounding areas are cluttered with garbage, affecting the religious sentiments of visitors. He noted that numerous unauthorized shops are operating from the cremation ground to the Lotus Temple, continuously disrupting cleanliness in the area.
He mentioned that roadside stalls are often set up, leaving behind heaps of used plates and other waste. This not only pollutes the path to the temple but also causes inconvenience to the devotees. The Mahant expressed that this situation has a negative impact on the minds of the visiting devotees and is not in line with the dignity of the sacred site.
Appealing to the administration, Mahant Surendranath Avadhut insisted that special attention should be given to this issue, and the temple route must be kept entirely clean. He also called on local leaders and representatives to take an active role in this matter, stating that the Kalka Ji Temple area has been neglected by local leaders.
He revealed that suggestions have been made to relevant officials and individuals via telephone multiple times, but no significant improvements have been observed. The Mahant clearly stated that all unauthorized shops outside the temple should be removed to provide devotees with a clean and organized environment.
Additionally, he demanded verification of vendors, insisting that there should be proper records and verification of those conducting business in and around the temple premises. He believes that this will enhance security and help maintain discipline in the area.
