New Delhi, July 21: The Cockroach People’s Party (CPP), currently protesting at Jantar Mantar in the national capital, has removed spokesperson Vijeta Dahiya from her position. This decision comes after videos surfaced, which the party deemed as evidence of insensitive behavior.
In an official statement, the party condemned Dahiya’s actions during a time when peaceful protesters and party members were allegedly facing police violence. The videos showcased behavior that did not align with the party’s values and principles.
The statement read, “We strongly denounce the extremely insensitive actions of our spokesperson, Vijeta Dahiya. At a time when peaceful protesters and our team were facing police brutality, her behavior was entirely unacceptable. This reflects serious indecisiveness and contradicts the core principles of our movement.”
The party has taken this matter seriously and has immediately relieved Dahiya of her spokesperson duties. She has also been released from all official responsibilities and obligations within the party.
It is noteworthy that on July 20, a large number of student protesters attempted to march towards Parliament, during which police used batons. Reports indicate that Dahiya was not present at the protest during this time. A video of her eating a burger has gone viral on social media.
However, Dahiya claims she went home to freshen up after the protest concluded and was simply hungry, asserting there is nothing wrong with her actions. She further stated that the controversy is being fueled by individuals who were never part of the march.
The CPP has announced that on July 21, a significant crowd has gathered again at Jantar Mantar and emphasized that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan must respond. They are present at the site, providing legal and medical assistance to their protesters, affirming their determination to succeed.
