CM Yogi Launches Development Drive Embracing 25 Crore People as One Family

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the five-day Siddharthnagar Festival on Wednesday, marking the launch and foundation laying of 229 projects worth ₹1,052 crore. Addressing the gathering, the CM stated that the development campaign is being advanced by treating the 25 crore population as one family.

He highlighted that a negative mindset had previously plagued the region, but through firm resolve, these issues have been overcome. Now, Siddharthnagar is moving forward from a troubled past towards becoming a land of celebration and progress.

CM Yogi praised the teachers of the Basic Education Council for their Saraswati Vandana, stating that instilling such values in children will prepare them to be carriers of the vision of a developed India.

During the event, two women entrepreneurs shared their success stories achieved through government schemes, showcasing the impact of these initiatives on empowering individuals.

The Chief Minister emphasized that schemes in the district are implemented based on proposals and efforts by local representatives. He clarified that the government acts as a facilitator and provides funds without discrimination. He thanked opposition leader Mata Prasad Pandey and Samajwadi Party MLA Saiyda Khatun for participating in the event.

CM Yogi underlined that life is meant for enthusiasm and collective progress, not despair. He called for efforts based on good intentions, rejecting divisiveness on grounds of caste, religion, region, or language. He stated that sustainable, inclusive development is the true embodiment of Ram Rajya.

The CM stressed that development must benefit every section of society, including villages, farmers, the poor, and youth. Essential welfare schemes like ration distribution, toilets, the Prime Minister’s housing scheme, and Ayushman cards should reach every eligible person without discrimination. The government’s focus remains on the welfare of the poor, women, youth, and farmers under the motto ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’

He recalled that just 8-10 years ago, the idea of a medical college in Siddharthnagar was unimaginable. Today, the Madhav Prasad Tripathi Medical College and a nursing college are operational, with the foundation laid for a women’s hostel and progress on a 1,000-seat auditorium funded by CSR contributions.

Siddharthnagar, once afflicted by disease and migration due to a sick mindset and lawlessness, has seen a remarkable transformation. The double-engine government’s determined efforts have eradicated encephalitis, a disease that once claimed many young lives, especially among marginalized communities. The CM emphasized that these children are not vote banks but integral members of the state’s family, and protecting them is the government’s responsibility.

He spoke about the historical significance of the region, recalling how relics of Lord Buddha from Piprahwa were taken abroad 125 years ago. Efforts are underway to establish a Vipassana centre and other developmental projects in Kapilvastu, Nepal, a friendly neighbouring country. Connectivity has been improved by upgrading interstate and international roads to four lanes, and railway projects connecting Siddharthnagar to Bahraich are expected to boost investment.

The Gorakhpur-Shamli Economic Corridor passing through three assembly constituencies of the district is poised to become a development corridor. CM Yogi described the festival as a symbol of grandeur, reflecting human dignity, security, and sovereignty, inspired by the legacy of Prince Siddharth, the founder of Buddhism, who sought truth and enlightenment in this region.
