Lucknow, August 3: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the importance of Shravan month for the residents of the state. He released a message titled “Yogi Ki Paati” to convey this significance.
In his message, CM Yogi stated, “Dear esteemed residents, Shravan month is a sacred festival of community welfare, respect for labor, and togetherness. Nature sends a message of renewal, and the hard work of our farmers yields green prosperity. In our eternal culture, this renewal of nature is linked with the worship of Shiva, guiding life towards restraint, service, and harmony.”
He further explained that the consumption of poison by Lord Shiva during the churning of the ocean symbolizes the highest sacrifice for the protection of creation. The tradition of offering water to him expresses gratitude and a commitment to public welfare. Lord Shiva, the deity of nature awareness, teaches us coexistence through his flowing Ganges, the moon adorning his head, the serpent around his neck, and his companion Nandi.
As the rains of Shravan touch the earth, the soil releases a fragrant aroma, and greenery envelops the surroundings. Rivers flow in their full glory, and the dance of nature becomes a celebration of life. This enthusiasm reflects new energy from villages to cities.
CM Yogi noted that in rural areas, community feasts following the transplantation of rice symbolize shared culture. The faith of devotees flocking to Shiva temples from villages to cities creates an extraordinary atmosphere of service, cleanliness, and social participation. Water is considered the essence of life among the five elements. Our commitment to water conservation is evident as nearly 20,000 Amrit Sarovars have been developed in the state.
Due to climate change and excessive exploitation, public participation in water conservation has become essential globally. It is encouraging that a residential society in the capital, Lucknow, has initiated a project to connect approximately 50,000 liters of water daily from RO and air conditioning units to a rainwater harvesting system for groundwater recharge.
CM Yogi urged everyone to pledge to take as much from nature as they give back. He specifically called on people to make Shravan month a time for service, cleanliness, water conservation, environmental enhancement, and social participation. “Respect every drop and protect every plant. This is the true message of Shravan and the foundation for a prosperous, safe, and developed Uttar Pradesh,” he concluded.
