
Beijing, June 23: The Chinese Ministry of Transport released a statistical report on June 22, highlighting the growth of the transport industry in 2025. The report indicates that real estate investment related to transportation in China exceeded 3.67 trillion yuan last year, maintaining a consistently high level.
According to the data, the total length of highways surpassed 5.5 million kilometers for the first time in 2025. Significant progress has been made in building a fast transport network. Travel between major cities in key regions, such as Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei Province, now takes just two hours. The total length of rural roads has increased to over 4.71 million kilometers, growing by 67,500 kilometers.
In 2025, the number of inter-regional trips reached 6.688 billion, marking a growth rate of 3.5 percent. This figure sets a new record. Each day, approximately 10 million people travel by high-speed train, over 160 million use road transport, and more than 2 million fly.
Additionally, the efficiency of goods transportation has improved significantly. In 2025, the volume of commercial freight reached 5.87 billion tons, a 3.2 percent increase compared to 2024. The number of express delivery orders surpassed 19.89 billion, reflecting a growth rate of 13.6 percent.
