
Beijing, May 22: The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Zhao Lijian, held a regular press conference on May 21, where he shared details regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China.
During this occasion, Zhao emphasized that President Xi Jinping had a profound, friendly, and productive meeting with Putin. The two leaders reached significant new agreements aimed at enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in this new era. They concluded a joint statement focused on expanding strategic cooperation and fostering friendly relations as good neighbors.
In the presence of both leaders, 20 cooperation documents were signed across various sectors, including economy, trade, education, and technology. Additionally, they issued a joint statement on promoting global multipolarity and new types of international relations, along with other cooperation documents in different areas.
Zhao Lijian stated that the strategic direction of China-Russia relations has reached a new level. Both sides should further enhance the high-quality development of bilateral relations in line with the trends of peace, development, cooperation, and mutual benefit. China aims to strengthen the foundation of mutual trust through the solid implementation of key agreements reached by the leaders, thereby enhancing cooperation and friendship for the benefit of both nations’ peoples.
