Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to Visit Uttarkashi on May 23

Mumbai, May 22: Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar is set to visit Uttarkashi district for a two-day tour on May 23 and 24. In preparation for this visit, the district administration has ramped up its efforts.

To finalize the arrangements for the two-day visit, Uttarakhand’s Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam, arrived in Uttarkashi on Thursday and conducted a thorough on-site inspection of various arrangements. He also held a detailed review meeting with officials. During this meeting, they assessed security, transportation, accommodation, meeting venues, and election-related programs.

District Magistrate Prashant Arya provided the Chief Electoral Officer with comprehensive details about the Chief Election Commissioner’s proposed itinerary. He assured that the district administration is completing all arrangements in a timely manner. Special emphasis has been placed on security during the visit, with police and administrative officials receiving necessary directives.

In sensitive areas, additional monitoring is being implemented, and continuous inspections are underway to streamline the event venues. Dr. Purushottam instructed officials to ensure that all arrangements for the Chief Election Commissioner’s visit are of the highest standard. He also reviewed preparations for electoral activities, booth management, voter awareness programs, and the overall electoral system.

Dr. Purushottam emphasized that the Election Commission is committed to strengthening and enhancing the transparency of the democratic process. Such visits aim to evaluate electoral arrangements at the grassroots level. During the inspection, administrative officials presented details regarding the route, meeting locations, rest areas, and security measures.
