Baramulla, Vijayawada, Coimbatore, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Hundreds of Sikh devotees participated in a grand Nagar Kirtan in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, as part of Janmashtami celebrations. Harvinder Singh, a member of the Gurudwara Management Committee, shared that local Muslim youth and community groups warmly welcomed the event, highlighting a spirit of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence.
“We are celebrating the first Prakash (illumination) of Guru Granth Sahib today, while our Muslim brothers are celebrating their festival and our Hindu brothers are observing Janmashtami,” Singh stated. He extended his greetings to everyone residing in Baramulla and across the nation, emphasizing the significance of this day.
In Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, the ISKCON temple was alive with joyous celebrations for Janmashtami. Sandeep Vaishnav, the temple manager, expressed his heartfelt wishes to the nation. “We are fortunate to celebrate Janmashtami here in Vijayawada, where we have two campuses, both hosting grand festivities,” he said.
BJP leader Rohan Gupta also conveyed his wishes for Janmashtami to the people of Rajasthan and Jaipur. He remarked, “Lord Krishna has always shown us the right path. I wish everyone well on this day and hope we continue to follow the path he has shown us.”
Meanwhile, at the ISKCON Jagannath Temple in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as devotees engaged in worship and special rituals from early morning. The deities of Balram, Subhadra, and Krishna were adorned with exquisite garments. Devotees chanted “Hare Ram, Hare Krishna” while circumambulating the temple, with many children dressed as Krishna and Radha. The evening featured a Kalash Abhishek and cultural programs, along with the distribution of prasadam to attendees.
