New Delhi, August 26: On the occasion of the Onam festival, President Droupadi Murmu and several prominent leaders, including Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, have extended their warm wishes to the public. The President remarked that Onam is a celebration of our rich culture and the spirit of brotherhood, promoting unity in diversity.
In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, President Murmu stated, “On this auspicious occasion of Onam, I extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all citizens, especially to our brothers and sisters from Kerala living in the country and abroad.”
In her message, the President emphasized, “This festival is an opportunity to express gratitude to nature for the arrival of the new harvest. Onam embodies our rich culture and the spirit of brotherhood. It promotes unity in diversity. The traditional boat races, folk dances, music, and games are significant customs associated with this festival, reflecting Kerala’s culture and values. I pray that this auspicious festival brings happiness, peace, good health, and prosperity to everyone, inspiring citizens to contribute to the nation’s progress.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also shared his wishes on ‘X’, saying, “On the joyous occasion of Onam, I extend heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all. May the colors and celebrations of Onam bring peace, prosperity, and new beginnings to every family. This auspicious festival strengthens the bonds of unity and fills our lives with joy and abundance.”
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh posted, “Warm wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Onam. This festival celebrates Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and traditions. It unites people with joy and festivity, promoting a spirit of unity, harmony, and solidarity. It also reflects our gratitude to Mother Earth. Union Home Minister Amit Shah conveyed his wishes, stating, “On this auspicious occasion of Onam, I wish our brothers and sisters from Kerala a joyful celebration. May this joyous occasion bring a year filled with peace and prosperity for everyone.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed, “Heartfelt wishes on the auspicious occasion of Onam. This festival celebrates eternal values of harmony, prosperity, compassion, and unity.
