CBSE Postpones Class 12 Board Exams in Qatar Amid Ongoing Regional Tensions

Doha, March 9: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the postponement of the Class 12 board exams scheduled to take place in Qatar from March 12. This decision comes in light of the current situation in the Gulf region, as communicated by the Indian Embassy in Qatar. The exams, originally set for March 12 to March 16, will now be rescheduled.

The board stated that new dates will be announced soon. A review of the situation will take place on March 14, after which decisions regarding exams scheduled after March 16 will be made. Students are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for updates and to closely follow official announcements, avoiding any rumors.

Previously, on March 7, a circular was issued regarding the Class 12 board exams in the GCC countries, informing about the postponement due to the crisis affecting Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

The advisory indicated that after a serious review of the current conditions in parts of the Middle East, the board decided to postpone the exams for Class 12 that were scheduled for March 9, 10, and 11, 2026.

On March 3, another circular was released announcing the decision to halt the exams. According to the notice issued by the board, all Class 10 and Class 12 CBSE exams scheduled for March 5 and March 6 were also postponed in these Middle Eastern countries.

Thus, CBSE has been continuously reviewing the situation, issuing notices to postpone and cancel exams on March 1, March 3, March 5, and March 7.
