CBSE Postpones Board Exams in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE

New Delhi, March 3: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new circular regarding the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations scheduled in various countries across the Middle East.

In light of the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, the board has decided to postpone two more board exams in the region. This decision affects affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The decision was made on March 3 after reviewing the current serious situation in the area. According to the information released by the board, all CBSE board exams for Class 10 and Class 12 scheduled for March 5 (Thursday) and March 6 (Friday) have been postponed in these Middle Eastern countries.

The board has stated that new exam dates will be announced later. A review of the situation will take place again on March 5. During this review, the board will decide on the remaining exams scheduled from March 7 onwards.

The board emphasized that decisions will be made based on the circumstances at that time. It has advised students and schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to stay in touch with their respective institutions and the CBSE for the latest updates. The board also urged everyone to rely only on official announcements.

A copy of this circular, issued by CBSE’s examination controller Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, has been sent to Indian ambassadors in the relevant countries, as well as to the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the board’s regional office. The Indian embassies involved include those in Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Muscat, Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tehran, and the Indian Consulate in Dubai.

The board has reiterated that the safety and welfare of students are paramount, and timely updates will be provided based on the evolving situation. Notably, CBSE board exams are conducted in many countries worldwide. This year, exams were scheduled to take place simultaneously in 26 countries, including those in the Middle East. The exams commenced on February 17 alongside India.

Previously, exams scheduled for March 2 in these Middle Eastern countries had to be postponed. Now, the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams on March 5 and 6 have also been delayed. However, exams continue to be conducted regularly in India and other countries.
