Mumbai, March 14: Actor Sanjay Kapoor is currently in the spotlight for his role in the series ‘Sankalp,’ where he portrays a politician. This social-political thriller also features Nana Patekar and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in significant roles.
In a recent podcast, Sanjay shared his apprehensions about working on the film ‘Luck By Chance.’ He expressed confusion regarding his role after Hrithik Roshan was cast. Sanjay posted a clip of this discussion on his Instagram.
In the clip, Sanjay states, “Initially, Zoya Akhtar saw something special in me. This was my first multi-starrer film. At that time, I mostly played lead roles. That’s why I felt quite uncertain and scared about working on this film. Zoya was new to directing, but her talent was well-known. She had already cast Hrithik Roshan. Still, she repeatedly encouraged me because she knew me well and often said I was the best fit for this role.”
Sanjay revealed, “I was so confused about the role that I told Zoya I didn’t understand what my part would be, especially with Farhan Akhtar and many other big stars involved. Zoya suggested I listen to the dialogues written by Javed Akhtar first before deciding whether to take the role.”
This film marked Zoya Akhtar’s directorial debut, and Sanjay played a minor role. The film was co-written and directed by Zoya Akhtar and featured notable actors like Rishi Kapoor, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, and Esha Sharvani. However, the film did not perform exceptionally well at the box office.
