Casio Unveils GMC-B2100 Full Metal G-Shock Watch with Tough Solar and Bluetooth Features

Tokyo, April 5: Casio has launched a new full-metal model in its G-Shock series, the GMC-B2100, now available in Japan. This watch builds on the iconic design of the original DW-5000C, maintaining its signature octagonal shape.

The GMC-B2100 boasts a stainless steel case and bezel, crafted through a meticulous multi-step process that includes forging, cutting, and polishing. The bezel features a circumferential hairline finish on its top surface, while the bevels are mirror-polished. The watch’s silver metallic vapor-deposited dial is complemented by black sub-dials, creating a striking monochrome look ideal for both everyday wear and active lifestyles. The metal band retains the dimple design from previous resin models and includes a one-push tri-fold clasp.

Despite its robust full-metal design, the GMC-B2100 upholds G-Shock’s renowned shock-resistant capabilities. Casio has incorporated a fine resin cushioning layer between the bezel and case to absorb shocks effectively. The watch measures 51.3 × 46.3 × 12.4 mm and weighs 171 grams, with a water resistance rating of 20 ATM.

The GMC-B2100 is packed with features. It supports world time with dual time display functionality and allows users to switch between home and local time. Additional features include a stopwatch with 1-second precision, a 24-hour countdown timer, and a daily alarm. A fully automatic calendar and date-day display are also included. Visibility is enhanced by a white LED backlight with afterglow and Neobrite coating.

Bluetooth connectivity allows the watch to pair with the CASIO WATCHES app, enabling automatic time correction, easy clock setting, and access to world time for approximately 300 cities. It also includes a phone finder feature. The watch utilizes Casio’s Tough Solar technology, providing up to five months of operation on a full charge, or up to 18 months in power-saving mode. When not connected, it maintains an accuracy of ±15 seconds per month. Production occurs at Yamagata Casio, the original site of G-Shock manufacturing.

Pricing & Availability

The GMC-B2100 is set to be released in April 2026, with a retail price of ¥107,800 ($675). Pre-orders are currently open in Japan.
