BRICS Resolution to Enhance Global Welfare, Says Minister Gajendra Shekhawat

New Delhi, September 13 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the Ram Katha at Ram Leela Maidan on Sunday. During the event, he shared his thoughts on the recent BRICS resolution passed at the summit.

Shekhawat emphasized the significance of the ongoing ‘Shri Ram Katha’ under the Sanatan Samskaram, aimed at connecting people with the richness of Sanatan culture. He stated, “This grand and divine event will fulfill our commitment to link both current and future generations to India’s eternal civilization, culture, and ideas.”

Regarding the condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the ongoing fight against terrorism, Shekhawat noted that India’s presidency of BRICS, following its G-20 leadership, is crucial. He remarked, “India has consistently asserted its stance against terrorism, illegal arms, and drug trafficking on global platforms. The consensus reached at this BRICS meeting will contribute to global welfare. In times of geopolitical turmoil and tension, forums like BRICS create pathways for dialogue and open doors for discussion. Culture and tourism are vital means to resolve upheavals, tensions, and differences among nations. Civilization and culture pave the way for unity.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed the adoption of the Delhi Declaration during the 18th BRICS Summit, which strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. The declaration called for a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of terrorism.

It stated that any terrorist act, regardless of purpose or perpetrator, is criminal and unjustifiable and should be condemned. The declaration reaffirmed the commitment to combat all forms of terrorism, emphasizing the need to take action against cross-border terrorist movements, funding of terrorism, and those providing safe havens to terrorists.

BRICS nations asserted that terrorism should not be linked to any religion, nationality, civilization, or ethnic group. They also stressed the importance of holding accountable those involved in terrorist activities and bringing them to justice under relevant national and international laws.
