VHP Welcomes Amit Shahs Announcement on Uniform Civil Code, Urges Non-BJP States to Act
The VHP has praised Amit Shahs announcement on the Uniform Civil Code, urging non-BJP states to implement it for gender equality.

New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has expressed its support for Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s announcement regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). On Monday, VHP spokesperson Vinod Bansal stated that this decision marks a significant step towards eliminating gender inequality and discrimination in India, thereby enhancing the rights of women and children. He also called on non-BJP governed states to adopt the UCC.
Bansal took to social media platform X to commend Shah’s statement, noting that the UCC is already in effect in five states, with three more in the process of implementation. He emphasized that Shah’s commitment to implementing the UCC across all BJP-ruled states by 2029 is commendable.
He further remarked that this initiative will help eradicate the remaining gender disparities and discrimination in the country, significantly contributing to the advancement of women’s and children’s rights. Bansal praised the Modi government for ensuring that marginalized sections of the population, particularly women, receive rights that have been denied to them for the past 75 years, freeing them from the clutches of extremists and separatists.
In his post on X, Bansal urged the remaining non-BJP state governments to take the initiative in this matter.
Earlier, on Sunday, Amit Shah announced that the UCC will be implemented in all 21 states governed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the BJP before 2029. He assured that necessary efforts would be made for a phased implementation of the UCC.
Shah highlighted that the UCC has already been enacted in several states and that work will proceed to ensure its application across all BJP-NDA governed regions. He expressed confidence that the process would be completed by 2029.
