Rio de Janeiro, August 2 (H.S.) – Former Brazil international defender David Luiz has officially ended his association with Brazilian Serie A club Fortaleza, just seven months after joining. The contract termination was carried out through mutual agreement between the player and the club.

The 38-year-old bid farewell to his teammates and club staff on Friday, marking the end of a short stint that began in January following a free transfer. During his time at Fortaleza, Luiz featured in only 16 matches across all competitions.
According to a report by Globo Esporte, Luiz has verbally agreed to a three-year contract with Cypriot top-division club Pafos FC.
Luiz’s original deal with Fortaleza was set to run until December 2026, with an option to extend it for another 12 months.
A veteran of 57 appearances for the Brazil national team, David Luiz has had a decorated club career, having played for elite teams including Benfica, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, and Flamengo.
