Bhopal, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The body of a 29-year-old lawyer, Vishal Ramnani, was found on railway tracks near Bhopal Railway Station on Saturday morning, five days after he was reported missing.
Ramnani, a resident of the Irani Market area, practiced law at the Bhopal District Court. The cause of his death remains unclear, prompting the Government Railway Police (GRP) to launch an investigation.
According to family members, Ramnani left home on the evening of October 5 and did not return. His sister, Garima Ramnani, also a lawyer, filed a missing person’s report at the Hanumanganj police station shortly after his disappearance.
Police registered a case against an unidentified individual under Section 140(3) of the Indian Penal Code and initiated a search operation. The family reported that Ramnani was last seen between 6 PM and 7 PM on October 5. When Garima returned home around 10:30 PM, the family informed police that he had gone out for a walk.
Reports indicate that he was spotted walking in the colony with a friend, Raju Sardar, around 11 PM on the same night. However, when the family attempted to reach him around midnight, his phone was off.
During the search, Ramnani’s mobile phone was discovered in the storage compartment of his parked Activa scooter near their home. Despite this lead, there were no further clues, prompting the family to notify the police.
The GRP has since registered an unnatural death case and is working to uncover the circumstances surrounding Ramnani’s death. Investigators are focused on determining the cause and events leading up to his demise. An employee from the court mentioned that Ramnani was last seen at the court on October 5, sharing this information upon learning of his death.
