Chaos Erupts at Uttar Pradesh Congress Inauguration Ceremony

Lucknow, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Tensions flared at the Uttar Pradesh Congress headquarters during the inauguration ceremony for new state president Aradhna Mishra ‘Mona’ and working president Imran Masood on Sunday. The event exposed deep-seated disputes within the party, culminating in a clash between supporters of former state president Ajay Rai and those backing Mishra.

The incident unfolded when Ajay Rai, accompanied by his supporters, arrived at the ceremony. A disagreement arose between Rai and a female party leader during their conversation, prompting Rai to exit the office in anger. His supporters demanded that the female leader be removed and issue an apology, insisting that Rai would only return once their demands were met.

The situation escalated when supporters from both factions began shouting slogans, leading to physical confrontations. Reports indicate that there was pushing, shoving, and even allegations of inappropriate behavior towards women, though these claims have not been independently verified.

In the aftermath, Ajay Rai accused others of mistreating him. With tensions rising, Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari and Imran Masood intervened to defuse the situation. Aradhna Mishra also attempted to mediate with Rai. Following Tiwari’s assurances, Rai returned to the Congress office, where senior leaders worked to restore order.

This incident has raised new questions about internal divisions within the party. As videos of the altercation circulate on social media, discussions regarding the conflict among Congress workers are gaining traction in political circles. Official details regarding the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the dispute are still awaited.
