New Delhi, October 6 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, the national spokesperson for the BJP and a member of the Rajya Sabha, addressed the media at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on October 6. He launched a strong critique against Congress and the opposition, accusing them of confusing the public with baseless claims and falsehoods stemming from their ongoing electoral failures.
Trivedi stated, “The Congress party, troubled by its continuous election losses, is engaged in misleading the nation through unfounded and nonsensical statements. The first family of Congress, which has dominated democracy for four generations, is now attempting to infiltrate the All India Radio. I urge the public to pay attention to the words of Rahul Gandhi and his leaders.”
He directly questioned Congress regarding the statements made by its leaders over the years. “Have these statements been made by your leaders or not? In recent years, Rahul Gandhi and his senior leaders have repeatedly claimed that there is voter duplication in many areas. We want to know if they were correct in 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2021, or if they are right now. The reality is that Congress has been lying then and continues to do so today.”
Trivedi responded to allegations regarding the removal of 130 million voters during the Special Investigation Report (SIR) process. He explained that among the voters mentioned, 28 million are deceased, 63 million have moved, 10 million are duplicates, and 30 million are absent. He challenged Congress and Rahul Gandhi, asking how they justify including deceased and duplicate voters in their claims about voter rights.
He urged the public to listen carefully to the statements made by Rahul Gandhi and his team. “Congress must clarify whether these statements were made by your leaders. Many of your senior leaders, including Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Ashok Gehlot, and Sachin Pilot, have echoed similar concerns about voter duplication. We want clarity on whether they were truthful then or now.”
Trivedi also posed a rhetorical question about the number of institutions Congress has accused of wrongdoing. “From the Indian Army to the Air Force, and from the judiciary to the media, how many institutions have they not targeted? I propose a quiz competition for the public to determine how many Indian institutions Congress, especially Rahul Gandhi, has accused over time.”
He emphasized that this is not the first instance of scrutiny in India’s systems. “Such investigations have occurred previously to ensure that the true beneficiaries receive their rightful entitlements. For example, after our government took office, we discovered 58 million ration cards belonging to individuals who did not exist. Similarly, 44.5 million MGNREGA cards were found to be linked to non-existent persons who were receiving wages.”
Trivedi concluded by questioning Congress’s record since the last SIR in 2003 and the states where they held power. “Before that, Congress had already lost power in many states, totaling 228 Lok Sabha seats. This was all before Rahul Gandhi entered politics and began to harm the party.”
He further inquired about Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to campaigning in assembly elections, asking if he had ever stayed in a state for an extended period, as Home Minister Amit Shah had done in West Bengal.
