Haveri, October 7 (Daily Kiran) : Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai emphasized the significant impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in transforming India’s large population into valuable human resources. Speaking at the “Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Sabha” and “Seva Jyoti” program in Haveri, he highlighted that this transformation is a key factor in the country’s progress.
Bommai addressed the gathering at the Sri Veerabhadreshwara Kalyana Mandapa, where the event was held to commemorate Modi’s 25 years in public service under the theme “25 Years of Public Service for Nation Building.” He stated that the program aims to honor Modi’s political contributions and the guidance he has provided to the citizens.
The main objective of the “Vikasit Bharat Sankalp Sabha” is to selflessly serve the poor, marginalized communities, women, and all sections of society. Bommai stressed the importance of adopting good values and conduct in today’s world. He noted that 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty, with over 4 million homes provided to rural families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
Additionally, he mentioned that 90 million people have received gas connections through the Ujjwala scheme, while the Jal Jeevan Mission has ensured drinking water access for over 600 million families. The Ayushman Bharat scheme offers free medical treatment up to ₹500,000 for the underprivileged.
Reflecting on India’s vast population, Bommai recalled Modi’s statement that while some leaders advocate for smaller families, he considers over 1.4 billion Indians as his family, working for their welfare. He praised Modi for his relentless dedication to the nation and conveyed the message that every individual should contribute to national service.
Referencing the struggle for independence, Bommai reminded attendees that the belief in freedom was a collective effort. He also discussed a recent parliamentary debate on India’s vision for 2047, where he responded to Supriya Sule’s suggestion to focus on 2027 instead. He remarked, “I may not be here in 2047, but this country will endure,” stressing the need for people’s efforts to be fully dedicated to national development.
Bommai concluded by asserting that Modi has accomplished tasks once deemed impossible, with the belief that “Modi hai to mumkin hai” becoming a widespread sentiment. He called on BJP workers to engage with communities and strengthen Modi’s initiatives through public service, praying for the Prime Minister’s continued strength in leading the country forward.
The event was attended by Rajya Sabha member M. Nagaraj, BJP Haveri district president Virupakshappa Ballari, former MLA Shivraj Sajjjan, and several party leaders and officials.
