BJPs K. Lakshman Critiques Congresss Save Democracy March as a Bid to Protect Dynastic Politics

Hyderabad, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Dr. K. Lakshman, a Rajya Sabha MP and member of the BJP’s parliamentary board, has sharply criticized the Congress party and the Indy alliance over their ‘Save Democracy March.’ He claims that the initiative, led by Rahul Gandhi, is not genuinely aimed at preserving democracy but rather at protecting dynastic politics.

Speaking in Hyderabad on October 2, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Lakshman asserted that the Congress and its allies are attempting to safeguard their political legacies under the guise of a democratic movement. He labeled the march as a ‘Save Dynastic Politics March’ instead.

Lakshman alleged that the true aim of this movement is to sustain dynastic rule and support individuals accused of criminal activities, corruption, and nepotism. He pointed out the contradiction in Rahul Gandhi’s advocacy for constitutional values, stating that the Congress party’s actions do not reflect these principles on the ground.

Using Telangana as an example, Lakshman noted that the Congress government in the state has recently welcomed eight to ten opposition legislators into its fold. He challenged Gandhi to hold a ‘Save Democracy March’ in Telangana if he is genuinely committed to upholding democracy and constitutional integrity.

The BJP MP also highlighted that protests are being organized in multiple cities, including Delhi and Mumbai, alleging that the opposition is misleading the public through these demonstrations. He emphasized that those who advocate for democracy and the Constitution should embody those values in their political conduct.

Lakshman concluded by reiterating that the motivations behind the Congress and Indy alliance’s actions appear to prioritize the protection of dynastic politics over the preservation of democracy itself.
