New Delhi, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : State Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal has sharply countered accusations made by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav regarding job recruitment and educational reforms in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to the media in Muzaffarnagar, Agarwal criticized the previous SP government for its alleged history of corruption, including cheating, paper leaks, and favoritism.
Agarwal pointed out that it is ironic for the Samajwadi Party, which he claims facilitated copying during exams, to question the current government’s recruitment of over 900,000 individuals. He described the SP’s governance as a period marked by rampant corruption, where jobs were allegedly sold and only individuals from specific castes were hired.
He recounted how during the SP’s rule, contracts were manipulated, and individuals would travel to Lucknow to negotiate jobs, often returning empty-handed. Agarwal emphasized that under the Yogi Adityanath administration, job opportunities are provided transparently to all communities, including Hindus, Muslims, and various caste groups, ensuring 100% reservation for women in police and PAC recruitments.
Agarwal stated that the people of Uttar Pradesh are well aware of the SP’s past and find Yadav’s current criticisms laughable. He urged Yadav to refrain from discussing corruption, given his party’s record.
In a related statement, fellow state minister Hansraj Vishwakarma also targeted Yadav, reminding him of the past failures of his administration, where exam integrity was compromised, and jobs were distributed through nepotism. He praised the current government for its commitment to transparency and for providing jobs without any corruption.
Vishwakarma highlighted that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, the state has seen significant reforms, including the elimination of cheating in examinations. He asserted that development is evident across Uttar Pradesh, contrasting it with the SP’s legacy.
Both ministers affirmed their belief that the current administration is dedicated to providing fair opportunities for employment and educational advancements, reinforcing their stance against the criticisms from the Samajwadi Party.
