Patna, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : BJP spokesperson Guru Prakash Paswan has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, stating that he lacks the moral authority to comment on any matter. Speaking in Patna, Paswan emphasized that a party aiming to contest elections effectively must not change leadership right before the polls.
He pointed out that recent announcements regarding state party presidents have led to leadership changes just ahead of elections. In Uttar Pradesh, for instance, Ajay Rai was replaced with a new face, a trend he indicated is also occurring in other states. Paswan used Goa as an example, asserting that Congress should focus on its internal preparations first.
Paswan accused Congress of lacking internal democracy, arguing that a party unable to ensure democratic processes within its ranks should not comment on the nation’s democracy.
He also responded to allegations regarding the detention of leaders from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Indian Youth Congress (IYC), criticizing the opposition coalition, the ‘Indi Alliance.’ According to Paswan, the agenda of the recent meeting in Delhi should have addressed who qualifies as the BJP’s “B-team.”
He noted that figures like Mayawati and Asaduddin Owaisi have been labeled as such at different times, insisting these claims lack any basis or meaning.
Paswan further challenged the opposition’s criticisms of the Election Commission‘s credibility, stating that undermining constitutional institutions is inappropriate. He suggested that those with grievances should seek judicial recourse.
He concluded by asserting that questioning the integrity of institutions after a loss, while deeming everything acceptable after a win, reflects a misguided attitude. He described this behavior as the “grammar of anarchy,” stressing that maintaining the dignity of democratic institutions is a shared responsibility among all political parties.
