Samajwadi Party Criticizes Election Commission Ahead of Akhilesh Yadavs Ayodhya Visit

Ahead of Akhilesh Yadavs visit to Ayodhya, the Samajwadi Party criticizes the Election Commission and BJP over election fairness.

Lucknow, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : The Samajwadi Party (SP) has ramped up its criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission as its national president, Akhilesh Yadav, prepares for a visit to Ayodhya. Party leaders emphasized various issues, including the protection of democracy and voting rights, while outlining strategies for the upcoming assembly elections.

Rajiv Rai, an SP MP, claimed that Lord Ram revealed to Akhilesh Yadav that malpractices were occurring, leading to the exposure of wrongdoings. With some individuals now removed from their positions, it is likely that Yadav will engage in worship during his visit to Ayodhya. Rai accused the Election Commission of acting at the behest of the government, asserting that it is no longer impartial, independent, or honest.

In Ayodhya, MP Awadhesh Prasad congratulated party workers and leaders on the SP’s foundation day. He highlighted the significance of this day for party members, the socialist family, and the broader community. It marks the anniversary of the SP’s establishment by Mulayam Singh Yadav, further underscoring the party’s legacy.

Awadhesh Prasad also raised concerns about the Election Commission’s role in safeguarding democracy and the Constitution. He stated that the roots of democracy in India are strong, and SP leaders have consistently fought to protect them. However, he criticized the current Election Commission for its lack of fairness and integrity, noting previous allegations of electoral fraud during elections in Uttar Pradesh.

He announced that the SP would organize marches in all districts to defend the voting rights granted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and to uphold democracy and the Constitution. These marches will protest the Election Commission’s practices.

In Delhi, SP MP Rama Shankar Rajbhar expressed hope for collaboration with Congress, emphasizing that the opposition’s primary goal should be to defeat the BJP. He reiterated that the SP leadership has made it clear that the number of seats is less important than winning the elections.

Rajbhar urged Congress to focus on strategies for victory rather than making grand claims about seat allocations in Uttar Pradesh. He referenced recent seat-sharing developments between Congress and other parties in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana.

He concluded by asserting that the alliance, which includes the SP and Congress, is strong, and together they defeated the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He expressed confidence that this coalition would also prevail in the 2027 assembly elections.
