Hyderabad, October 4 (Daily Kiran) : Central Minister of State for Home Affairs, Band Sanjay Kumar, criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a recent Lok Sabha session. He questioned why Gandhi has time for various issues but not to commend Captain Smita Machhar. Kumar suggested that the reluctance to recognize the bravery of an Indian hero stems from a politics of appeasement on the international stage.
The BJP leader emphasized that every Indian should celebrate Captain Smita’s courage. He expressed that those who fail to do so could be labeled as “mental naxals” and anti-national, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s political rhetoric.
Captain Smita Machhar recently averted a disaster on a FlyDubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The incident occurred when her co-pilot allegedly attempted to take control of the aircraft. After Machhar issued warnings, some passengers intervened and restrained the co-pilot. Two other pilots, who were traveling as passengers, assisted in safely landing the plane in Saudi Arabia.
Previously, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, also condemned Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi for not recognizing Captain Machhar’s bravery. He stated that the whole nation feels proud of her courage in risking her life to prevent an incident similar to the 9/11 attacks.
Reddy expressed disbelief that the Gandhi family could not grasp the fundamental importance of acknowledging such extraordinary bravery displayed by an Indian. He criticized Rahul Gandhi for focusing on trivial issues while neglecting to honor Machhar’s heroics, even failing to make a post on social media about the incident.
