New Delhi, August 17: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is making significant changes to its organization in preparation for the upcoming elections. On Monday, BJP President Nitin Naveen announced a new national team that includes experienced leaders, representatives from various states, and individuals actively working within the organization. This move indicates that the BJP aims to emphasize organization, public relations, and improved functionality in its electoral strategy.
The most talked-about appointment is that of Smriti Irani as the National General Secretary. She is a strong campaigner and a well-known face of the party in Uttar Pradesh. Her appointment is seen as an effort to bolster the BJP’s position in the state.
The new list also assigns key responsibilities to several leaders who have performed well politically in their regions. Biplab Kumar Deb from Tripura has been appointed as National General Secretary. Satish Poonia from Rajasthan has been given a significant role as an influential figure in the Jat community. Harish Dwivedi and Bhola Singh from Uttar Pradesh have also been given important positions. Manoj Tigga, a prominent leader from West Bengal, has joined the national organization, while young leader Hemang Joshi from Gujarat has been entrusted with the Youth Wing.
However, these changes are not limited to new faces. The party has retained trust in its seasoned leaders. B.L. Santosh continues as National General Secretary (Organization), while Soudan Singh and Shivprakash maintain their responsibilities. Additionally, Ram Madhav’s return as National Vice President highlights the importance of experienced leaders within the organization.
The new team has also focused on ensuring representation from various sections of society. Among the 13 National Vice Presidents, six are women. Leaders have been assigned to different fronts, including youth, women, OBC, farmers, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and minorities.
Changes have also been made to the party’s media and social media teams. Anil Baluni remains the media coordinator, while Deepak Mhaskey from Chhattisgarh has been appointed as the National Social Media Coordinator. It is believed that they will focus more on data-driven and digital platforms.
Piyush Goyal has been appointed as the National Treasurer, strengthening the role of an experienced leader within the organization.
Political analysts believe that Nitin Naveen’s team has been formed with a specific vision. The aim is to strengthen the organization rather than rely on any single individual. The BJP is focusing on maintaining its robust organizational structure while paying more attention to youth, various social classes, and digital mediums. The party’s message is clear: empower workers for the upcoming elections, enhance communication systems, and prepare the organization down to the booth level.
