BJP Responds to SPs Allegations on Monsoon Session Duration in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, August 3: The political rhetoric between the Uttar Pradesh government and the opposition has intensified regarding the duration of the upcoming Monsoon session. The Samajwadi Party (SP) has accused the government of shortening the session to evade public issues. In response, ministers from the Yogi government have dismissed these claims, asserting that the government will focus on development and public welfare during the session.

Minister Narendra Kashyap stated that the Monsoon session is crucial for the state’s progress. The government plans to expedite several development projects and will present a supplementary budget to ensure necessary financial provisions.

Commenting on the opposition’s role, Kashyap criticized the Samajwadi Party for failing to fulfill its responsibilities. He accused the opposition of engaging in caste and religious politics, opposing every decision made by the government. He emphasized that in a healthy democracy, the opposition should offer constructive suggestions, but the SP seems to be opposing merely for the sake of opposition. He expressed confidence that the people of Uttar Pradesh would once again elect the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2027 assembly elections.

Regarding the SP’s allegations about the session’s duration, Kashyap suggested that they should first review their own governance record. A comparative analysis would reveal that the assembly has functioned for more days under the BJP government than in the past. He further claimed that SP legislators often attempt to disrupt proceedings and divert attention from development-related issues by raising caste and religious topics. He assured that the government would fully utilize the assembly to legislate for the state’s benefit and advance development plans.

Kashyap also questioned the behavior of the opposition in Parliament and state assemblies, noting that disruptions have become a norm. He remarked that instead of engaging in democratic discussions, the opposition has initiated a trend of creating disturbances. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are striving to introduce new laws and development initiatives for the country and the state, but the opposition attempts to obstruct these efforts.

In response to the attack on MP Pappu Yadav, Kashyap stated that Parliament is a sacred platform for discussing significant national issues. He condemned the act of protesting in a saint’s attire and presenting a photo of Lord Ram at someone’s feet as an insult to the saintly community and Sanatan traditions. Such actions, he asserted, would elicit a response from the Sanatani society.

Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal also targeted the Samajwadi Party, claiming that the opposition has run out of public-related issues and is thus resorting to politics surrounding the Ram Temple and religious matters. He pointed out that those who previously attacked Ram devotees and questioned the existence of Lord Ram are now talking about Sanatan culture.
